Apple continues to dominate the tablet industry in the third quarter of 2021, which comes as no surprise. The business sold 12.9 million tablets throughout the world, bringing in a staggering $7.4 billion in revenue.
According to IDC, Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, Amazon, and Huawei were the top five participants in the tablet market in the third quarter.
With 31.9 percent market share, Apple dominated the battle, with Samsung in second place with 19.6 percent. Lenovo and Amazon each had 11% and 10% of the market, respectively, while Huawei rounded out the top five with 5%.
Everyone else in the market combined accounted for 21% of the market.
"This quarter, our teams built on a period of unprecedented innovation by sharing powerful new products with our consumers, at a time when utilizing technology to connect people worldwide has never been more essential," Apple CEO Tim Cook said of the company's Q3 performance.
“We're continuing to push forward in our efforts to infuse everything we produce with the values that define us — by encouraging a new generation of developers to learn to code, getting closer to our 2030 environmental target, and engaging in the important task of building a more equitable future,” he said.
